Want to get in and out fast for passport? Just prepare EVERYTHING (form, copies of every paperwork, photos) at home to save time and money and come super early :) and i mean super early like before they even open because there will be a line. Got there at 10:00 am, open at 10:30 am. I'm the 5th person in the line and the process of waiting + everything is 2 hours got out at 12:00 pm...Not so bad.

I am posting negatively about a business for the first time ever. If I ever take the time to post it is usually for great customer service, or satisfaction.

Today I showed up at the royal oaks post office to have my passport reinstated. The time states that you can do this up until 6:30 in the post office, office. Mind you I understand I need to be there before that to actually get it taken care of. I got there at 6:15, and the doors were locked. There was an Asian man, not calling him a gentleman, behind the desk, right by the closed doors. I tried to open them three times and he didn't look up. I politely knocked, and no look. I decided to try to open the doors harder, maybe I was just mistaken by how the door opens? Nope, they were locked and the Asian man finally decided to glance up for two seconds to give me a disgusted look and point to the other double doors on the side of the building. He must've thought I was there to drop off mail. I figured maybe as it nears closing time they only have those doors open. I go to the other doors and they are locked as well, but now he's far enough away to where him ignoring me does not seem unreasonable. I took advantage of the mail delivery window with the doorbell next to me, and used that to finally have an employee there speak with me. They started by abruptly saying it closes at 6 (I was now in the area of the post office that does), and the time was now around 6:18-6:20. I said I was there for my passport and that the office was closed and he was not paying attention to me. They fired back saying it takes about 20 minutes so they wouldn't be able to help. I was frustrated, so I do admit I snapped a bit and said that I was in the correct spot earlier but he didn't open the door or pay me any notice. Their last excuse was that he was having a bad day?! I ended up exclaiming that I just did not want my time to be wasted at this point and would appreciate them telling me if I at least have the correct paper work and documentation so that I could come back and take care of it. As this happened, i saw the Asian man walk back to the office to pretty much hide, I asked if i could talk to him about that to be sure, and the lady said she could help me as she does passports too. They did help with that, and I am forced to go back there to have it taken care of, but I have never been treated so rudely, and basically ignored to my face, because that person was having a "bad day" and did not want to work til the end of their shift?

Point of this post, if you can avoid royal oaks post office, do so. If you will be needing a person to person engagement, you will be taking the 50/50 chance that they are having a good or bad day, and that will determine the respect with which you receive. NOT WORTH IT!
